Color Cat Care

Color Cat Care is the standalone Poki-facing Color Sort variant of the Matchy Cat Unity project. The player sees one active cat need, deploys an unlocked relevant care station from the Cat Locker, drags the cat to that station before resources are earned, and then solves Color Sort tube puzzles to generate the station's visible resource requirements while the cat sustains the care action.

Reference Thesis
Color Cat Care should use conventional Color Sort / Water Sort as the primary reference. The evidence so far suggests players usually understand the tube-sorting mechanics quickly, so the core product question is not basic control comprehension; it is whether the sorting loop can stay interesting past the second or third puzzle when wrapped in lightweight cat-care needs and station progress. The cat-care layer should provide purpose, reward, and pacing around the sort puzzle, but it should not obscure the simple source-tube/destination-tube decision loop that makes Color Sort readable on web.
Reference Alignment
Use Color Sort Puzzle as the core gameplay reference: clear tube capacity, contiguous same-color group movement, readable legal moves, short early boards, and a deliberate difficulty/variety ramp. Use Matchy Cat/Fishdom/Clumsy Ninja only as secondary context for cat-care purpose, station payoff, and emotional framing, not as permission to add complex care gates before the Color Sort loop proves it can hold attention.

Next Actions
Keep Color Cat Care parked. Use its evidence as comparison material for Feed the Cat Food Sort, especially around puzzle 2-3 boredom and lightweight cat-care payoff.
Latest Findings
Latest Poki Player Fit for colorsort-build005.zip: average session 96.0s, p90 201.0s, median 70.5s, under-3m sessions 87.6%, Poki start rate 80.8%. · Latest Color Cat Care evidence showed players generally understood the Color Sort mechanic, but boredom appeared around puzzle 2 or 3. · colorsort-build005.zip reached 96.0s average session, 70.5s median, 201.0s P90, 87.6% under-three-minute sessions, and 80.8% start rate. · Build005 remained weaker than earlier Color Sort snapshots such as build004/build002 on average session, P90, and three-minute reach. · The current portfolio now has Feed the Cat Food Sort as the cleaner Food Sort-based cat-care branch, so Color Cat Care does not need to stay active for sorting/cat-care exploration. · Color Cat Care produced useful evidence: sorting mechanics appear easier to understand than Matchy Cat's Match-3 branch, but the current Color Sort care wrapper does not yet justify another active experiment. Park it and preserve the learning for Feed the Cat Food Sort rather than continuing to split attention across similar cat/sorting variants.
